Mölndal City chooses Antura Projects

Mölndal City has chosen Antura Projects for its combined project operations, and as support for the new municipality-wide project model that has been introduced.

Much of Mölndal City’s operations are project-based, and for this reason the organization needed support in the form of well-functioning processes, method support and tools. About one year ago, the mayor initiated a venture aimed at introducing a municipality-wide project model and equipping the municipality’s employees with a project tool. The municipality’s IT strategist was asked to conduct a thorough market analysis of both of the above. For instance there were meetings with a number of suppliers of project tools on the Swedish market, to see which tool would best meet the municipality’s requirements.

Within the organization there was a demand for a project tool with good support for project managers, management and resource managers. Features like resource management, scheduling, financial follow-up and reporting were examples of areas where the City needed better structures.

In the autumn of 2012 an agreement was signed to launch Antura Projects as the operation’s main tool for project and portfolio management. The choice of Antura Projects came after a detailed evaluation, reference visits and a 6-month pilot period where the tool was used and evaluated in several real-life projects in the major program “New Mölndal Centre”.

Mölndal is a municipality just south of Gothenburg, with a dynamic business sector and an interesting history. It was formed in 1971 through an amalgamation of Mölndal, Kållered and Lindome municipalities. The new municipality was named Mölndal City (Mölndals kommun). In 1922 Fässberg Municipality was granted city rights, and since 2004 the municipality is again called Mölndal City. The municipality has about 4,000 employees in ten departments.

Mölndal City has 61,191 residents and is the third largest municipality in Västra Götaland County (30 June 2011).
