Willhem has put all its project-related material into Antura Projects, enabling a good overview of ongoing projects and a better foundation of data for making decisions and setting priorities. “Antura gives us an effective system for following up our project portfolio,” says Christer Brattsell, Project Controller at Willhem.
Housing
company Willhem currently operates on ten sub-markets across Sweden, and its
head office is in Gothenburg. The company places great emphasis on developing
new ideas in service, property development, sustainability and digitization,
with the aim of being one of Sweden’s most innovative housing companies.
Willhem has some 1,500 projects a year in its portfolio, and it saw a need to
bring all project-related work together into a single system, in order to
streamline project and portfolio management and increase returns.
–Willhem
used to use primarily Excel-based templates and compilations for project and
portfolio management. This left a lot of scope for input errors, and the high
degree of manual handling made it very time-consuming while also compromising
the quality. We also saw that the chain of custody in decision-making could be
improved, says Christer Brattsell, Project Controller at Willhem.
After
carefully considering other PPM systems, Willhem finally settled on Antura
Projects, and implementation began in spring 2015. The system was configured
while the company discussed ideas around project-related processes with the
responsible project manager from Antura.
–The
collaboration with Antura has flowed very smoothly, both during the start-up
phase and in live operation. We have received fast responses and feedback,
while any obstacles along the way have been resolved in a structured,
constructive manner, says Brattsell.
Only
scratched the surface
Bringing
all its PPM into Antura Projects gives the company a good overview of ongoing
efforts, as well as a better foundation of data for making decisions and
setting priorities.
The
project managers in our organization now know where the projects can be found
for decisions, and the decision-making process is now both quicker and clearer.
An internal survey reveals that users now find it easier to start up projects,
while decisions are made more quickly. We also believe that, thanks to Antura,
we have got better at monitoring our in-house processes surrounding projects.
Since Willhem’s project portfolio has to achieve a specific yield level, it is
important to have an effective system for follow-up – and we believe we now
have that in Antura, Brattsell explains.
The next
step is to extend the use of Antura Projects in the organization. Christer
Brattsell can see the potential to further streamline PPM:
–Our
internal survey indicated which parts of the system we need to develop, and
alongside Antura we have already started the process of meeting the users’
wishes. We also feel that now, eight months after the system came online, we
have only scratched the surface of all the opportunities Antura Projects has to
offer.
