SWARCO green lights Antura`s PPM tool

Ascom, a leading global provider of mission-critical information and communication technology solutions, had been looking for a powerful yet user-friendly system that could support different roles and functions in the project organization. After an extensive procurement process, they chose Antura and its project, portfolio & resource management (PPM) solution, Antura Projects.

SWARCO’s project organization has an extensive role in delivering environmentally friendly solutions for an efficient flow of traffic & increased traffic safety, and plays a vital role in being able to meet the requirements set by customers and the business community. The emphasis is on developing customer-oriented solutions, and on operating and maintaining equipment.

Before investing in Antura Projects, SWARCO was looking for a flexible, user-friendly project, portfolio & resource management (PPM) system to replace its existing solution. Requirements included a clearer overview of ongoing projects and a better foundation for decisions and priorities.

We had in mind a user-friendly, comprehensive project and portfolio management tool with high flexibility and good opportunities for financial follow-up. And that’s exactly what Antura offered, says Andreas Esmann, Project Manager at SWARCO.

Antura Projects was gradually introduced in the Swedish organization in close collaboration with Antura’s consultants:

The implementation was successful, and the process of gradually configuring Antura Projects in a number of workshops was highly effective and instructive, says Esmann.

After having worked with the system for a while, he highlights functions for cost and benefit management and for document management as being particularly valuable for SWARCO. These are used partly to assess the benefits a project will generate for the operation, such as streamlining or cost savings.

Long-term view of supplier and system integration

Positive experiences gleaned from introducing and using Antura Projects have led the Swedish organization to share its knowledge and experiences more widely within the company. The next step includes plans to increase the number of users, thereby making it possible to manage the entire project portfolio. Seamless integration between the Antura Projects tool and SWARCO’s SAP business system is under way, with an initial focus on projects run in the Nordic region. There is also an initiative to introduce Antura Projects as the group-wide tool for project, portfolio and resource management.

As a result of continued support from Antura and responsiveness to customers’ needs, we take a long-term view of both the supplier and the system, says Esmann about the ongoing collaboration with Antura.

”We had in mind a user-friendly, comprehensive project and portfolio management tool with high flexibility and good opportunities for financial follow-up. And that’s exactly what Antura offered.”
