Scandi Standard is Enhancing their Project Operations with Antura

Scandi Standard, with its subsidiaries Kronfågel, Danpo and Den Stolte Hane, is Scandinavia’s largest poultry producer. A project management office (PMO) was recently established with Antura Projects as the project and portfolio management system.

Newly Formed Corporation with Major Project Operations

Scandi Standard is a newly formed Scandinavian corporation with 1,650 employees and over EUR 550 million in sales. The corporation is the result of the acquisition of the Kronfågel Group in Sweden and Danpo in Denmark from Lantmännen as well as the acquisition of Cardinal Foods AS in Norway from CapMan.

A key challenge for Scandi Standard was to get a better understanding of both ongoing projects as well as projects in the works. Today, the corporation is conducting comprehensive project operations with a focus on product development, streamlining productions and IT projects. A large part of the projects is being conducted with participants from various countries.

Antura Projects has created excellent conditions for us to work in projects across borders since it is completely web-based,” says Michael Hyldgaard, PMO Manager. Hyldgaard has been in charge of constructing a PMO for the corporation in which Antura Projects currently constitutes the central IT support.

Fast and Easy to Implement

Kronfågel and Danpo were previously part of the Lantmännen Corporation and have thus been using Antura Projects since 2007. When the new corporation, Scandi Standard, was formed in 2013, it was natural to choose the same system.

Antura Projects was installed and configured in order to fit the specific needs of Scandi Standard. In connection with this, all ongoing projects were pulled into the tool.

I think that the implementation went very quickly and smoothly. In only a few weeks, we were up and running and could work on our ongoing projects,” says Charlotte Gade, Solution Manager at Danpo.

Since then, the corporation’s PMO has been taking shape more and more and the need for and benefit from the portfolio and project tool has become clearer. Antura’s consultants have helped in discussions about how the tool is best used and how project management can be improved.

Now we can get an overall view of all our projects. We can see the status of ongoing projects and we also get excellent support in prioritizing and planning upcoming projects,” says Hyldgaard.

Future Plans

The next step will be to strengthen and clarify how the project groups will use the system and how the information in Antura Projects is best used in order to make decisions concerning the project portfolio.

There are also plans to integrate Antura Projects with the ERP system in order to read over cost outcomes entered into the books for the project tool. This will give the project managers better control over the costs compared with the projects’ budget.

”Now we can get an overall view of all our projects. We can see the status of ongoing projects and we also get excellent support in prioritizing and planning upcoming Projects.”
