Mycronic is a Swedish high-tech company engaged
in the development, manufacture and marketing of production equipment with high
precision and flexibility requirements for the electronics industry. Mycronic’s
mask writers holds a unique position as the world’s sole production solution
for advanced photomasks that are essential for manufacturing complex displays. During
the summer of 2021, Mycronic chose to implement the project tool Antura to
streamline project management and gain better overview of the company's
projects and activities. This goal has been achieved and they are now focusing
on expanding the use of the PPM tool within the group.
In 2020, Mycronic decided to acquire a new PPM tool to
streamline their project management. Powerful features for portfolio
management, time reporting, resource management, cost management and risk
management were requested. As the tool would be an important part of Mycronic's
application landscape, possibility to integrate with the existing business
system Movex/M3 was needed for import of cost actuals and export of time
reporting. After a carefully conducted evaluation of several vendors, the
choice was Antura. They saw great advantages with a common workspace and
working methods as well as the possibility of a comprehensive overview of
available capacity. This they have now achieved with the help of Antura.
−We are very satisfied with the PPM tool and feel
that we have achieved the goal of having a common platform where both our
project managers and project members can work together. We have also gained a
much better overall picture of our projects and activities, says
Hans Ollfors, Senior Specialist Project Manager, Development Center, Pattern
Generators at Mycronic.
Implementation of a PPM tool always involves a journey
of change and is time-consuming. It also depends on the level of project
maturity. The implementation went smoothly thanks to Mycronic's high level of commitment.
They had good support from senior management. Other key success factor was the
cross-functional working group's ability to allocate sufficient time to
introduce Antura, and that the group members possessed a deep understanding of
the business. The smooth implementation also resulted in Mycronic winning the
"Best Implementation Award 2022, Private Sector" at Antura Day in May
2022.
−The whole team is grateful and proud that we won
the Best Implementation Award at Antura Day. It shows that we were in the right
maturity level and had consensus in the organization, which ensured that we
could smoothly handle the implementation as the journey of change it really is,
says Hans.
In addition to project and portfolio management,
Mycronic has also moved parts of their resource management processes to Antura,
which means that they now manage project and resource plans in one and the same
system. Previously, Excel was used for resource management, and they found it
difficult to maintain and it had limited functionality. The purpose is to
increase business value with help of the PPM tool, as they can now more easily
see where resources are needed to meet project deadlines.
The tool is now being utilized more widely within the group, with an increased
number of users.
−Antura
is impressed with Mycronic's seamless implementation of the PPM tool and their
successful adoption of it according to their needs. Mycronic is an exciting
company to collaborate with, and we very much look forward to following their
coming journey and growth with the tool, said Therese Forsberg, Business Consultant and
Customer Manager at the Antura.
