Ascom supplies customized solutions for wireless mission-critical information and communication. The company’s products and its software architecture make it possible to integrate mobile devices and solutions that create flexible, efficient workflows in the healthcare, industrial, security and retail sectors.
The group conducts a great many product development projects of varying sizes every year. To further streamline project and portfolio management, Ascom was looking for a powerful yet user-friendly system that could support different roles and functions in the project organization.
–Generally speaking, we wanted a more intuitive user interface to make life easier for non-frequent users and reduce work input for administrators. The potential for financial follow-up, reporting and analysis was also important to us, and the solution also had to be compatible with existing systems, says Mats Espling, Manager Project Office at Ascom.
Ascom searched for a PPM system that could fulfill the organization’s criteria, and following a thorough selection process the choice settled on Antura and Antura Projects, which Ascom felt best met its requirements.
–Antura Projects proved to be a system with tremendous opportunities for following up historical data, and there was good flexibility around baselines. We also felt that Antura had a drive to develop its products and functionalities, says Espling about the decision to use Antura as the supplier.
The introduction of Antura Projects into Ascom began during the summer and went live in October for product development. Initially, Ascom will focus on such key functions as portfolio management, project planning, resource management and time reporting; the system will then gradually be further deployed over the next six months.
